5.24.26 WHEN THE SPIRIT MOVES: The Future Opens
Acts 2:14–21, Isaiah 43:18-21
Dear Trinity Family & Friends,
This Sunday, we conclude our sermon series When the Spirit Moves with the message: “The Future Opens.” As we gather on Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate one of the most powerful moments in the life of the church – the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. What began as a promise becomes a reality. What was once uncertain becomes clear. And what once felt limited suddenly expands. Pentecost reminds us that the story of God is not behind us, but it’s still unfolding.
Peter stands and declares that this is not an isolated moment, but the beginning of something new. A movement of God that includes more people, reaches further than expected, and reshapes what the community of faith will become. Isaiah echoes that same truth: God is always doing a new thing. Not repeating the past, but creating something fresh in ways we don’t immediately recognize. The question is not whether God is moving. The question is whether we can perceive it… and whether we are willing to step into it.
Reflect and Prepare
- What does Pentecost mean to you in your faith journey?
- Where do you see God doing something new in your life or in the world?
- What makes it difficult to embrace change or new direction?
- What does it mean that the Spirit is poured out on all people?
- Where might God be inviting you to step forward in faith?
- What kind of future do you sense God shaping in you?
- How can you remain open and attentive to the Spirit’s leading?
The Spirit is not finished. God is still moving, still leading, still opening new possibilities before us. May we have the faith to see what God is doing and the courage to step into the future that God is unfolding.
Can’t wait to see you Sunday!
