3.1.26 JESUS IN HIGH-RESOLUTION: Blurred Vision
Luke 7:18–23, Isaiah 35:3–6
Dear Trinity Family & Friends,
By the second week of Lent, the light has been revealed, but clarity has not yet settled.
This Sunday we encounter one of the most honest moments in Luke’s Gospel. John the Baptist, the faithful prophet who announced Jesus, now asks: “Are you the one… or should we look for another?” That question doesn’t come from cynicism. It comes from confinement. From disappointment. From unmet expectations. Even faithful people experience blurred vision.
Jesus does not shame John. He does not lecture him. He points to what is happening: the blind see, the lame walk, the poor hear good news. Clarity comes not through explanation, but through evidence of restoration.
This week’s small group lesson invites us to name honestly where faith feels strained and to trust that God meets us there.
