9.21.25 TRUSTING THE COVENANT: Firmness in Faith
Daniel 3:16-18, 24-25, Daniel 1:8-17
Dear Trinity Family & Friends,
Have you ever faced a moment where standing firm in your faith came with real risk? Where following God meant going against the grain, and maybe even standing alone? These moments test our character, our courage, and most of all, our trust in God.
This Sunday, we continue in our Trusting the Covenant sermon series with a message entitled “Firmness in Faith,” drawing from two accounts of bold faith in the book of Daniel. In Daniel 1, we meet young exiles choosing faithfulness over comfort, refusing to be shaped by the empire around them. And in chapter 3, we witness Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refusing to bow to the golden statue, even when the cost is a fiery furnace.
Their stories are not just ancient acts of bravery. They are invitations. They ask us: What does it mean to stand firm in today’s world, to live with unwavering faith in a God we cannot always see, but deeply trust? When the heat gets turned up in our lives, will we remain grounded in our covenant with God?
As we prepare for Sunday, I invite you to consider: Where are you being called to stand firm? What does faithful resistance look like in your life?

- In Daniel 1, how do you see Daniel and his friends staying true to their identity? Where is God calling you to do the same?
- What stands out to you in the story of the fiery furnace? How does God’s presence in the fire change the story?
- Have you ever felt like the only one trying to live faithfully in a challenging environment?
- What spiritual practices help you remain firm in your convictions, even when it’s difficult?
May this week inspire us all to be people of resilient hope, trusting that God is with us in every fire, shaping us and sustaining us as we live out our faith.
Blessings,
Pastor Carrie
