6.22.25 Living the Covenant: Covenant Leadership
I Kings 11:1-4, 11-13, Psalm 51:1-4, 6, 10-12
Dear Trinity Family & Friends,
Leadership is more than holding a position—it’s about shaping a people. As we continue our Living the Covenant series, this week we explore what it means to lead within God’s covenant community with a sermon entitled: “Covenant Leadership.”
Through the rise and fall of kings—David, Solomon, and others—we see the tension between human ambition and divine calling. Leadership in Scripture is never just about authority; it’s about responsibility, repentance, and relationship with God.
Solomon began his reign with wisdom but ended in compromise. David, though deeply flawed, offers us a glimpse of redemptive leadership through his prayer in Psalm 51—a cry of confession that reminds us real leaders return to God when they fall short.
As we prepare for worship this Sunday, I invite you to reflect on what kind of leadership God is calling you to—whether in your home, workplace, church, or community.

Small Group Discussion Questions:
- How do the stories of David and Solomon reflect both the strengths and vulnerabilities of leadership? What can we learn from their examples?
- Psalm 51 is a model of repentance. Why is the ability to repent essential for covenant leadership?
- Where has God given you influence, and how are you using it to reflect God’s character? What spiritual disciplines help keep your leadership grounded?
- How can the church model faithful leadership in a world that often values power over humility? What changes when leadership becomes an act of covenant rather than control?
Let’s continue to learn, grow, and lead in ways that reflect the heart of God.
See you Sunday!
