Proverbs 1:7-8

Dear Trinity Family & Friends,

This Sunday, we are excited to welcome Rev. Vicki Cater as our guest preacher for a special service celebrating United Women in Faith Sunday. Our scripture focus will be Proverbs 1:7-8 (CEB):

“Wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Listen, my child, to your father’s instruction; don’t neglect your mother’s teaching.”

United Women in Faith are women with a purpose—women who live out wisdom through action, service, and leadership. They wear many hats, answering God’s call to inspire, influence, and impact their local and global communities. Their work reflects the heart of Proverbs—valuing instruction, sharing wisdom, and nurturing others.

The Many Hats of United Women in Faith represent the many ways these women faithfully serve:

  1. Equipping Women and Girls for Leadership:
United Women in Faith are committed to raising up leaders in churches, communities, agencies, and governments. Through their efforts, women and girls around the world are empowered to use their voices and gifts to lead with wisdom and courage—ensuring these opportunities cross every racial, ethnic, linguistic, and economic boundary.
  2. Organizing for Growth:
From local gatherings to online communities, these women connect in-person and virtually, fostering growth in faith, friendship, and service. United Women in Faith show us that connection is not bound by geography but by a shared mission.
  3. Offering Educational Experiences:
Through spiritual formation, personal development, and community-building programs, United Women in Faith inspire powerful, collective change. They remind us that growing in faith is a lifelong journey—and education is one of the hats we must wear to serve others well.
  4. Supporting Women, Children, and Families:
With compassion and conviction, they support partners providing direct services in our neighborhoods and communities worldwide. From education to economic development, their work advocates for justice and improved lives for women, children, and youth everywhere.

As we prepare for this Sunday, I invite you to reflect on these questions:

  • How have the women in your life worn many hats to shape who you are today?
  • Where do you see wisdom—both learned and lived—passed down through generations?
  • How might God be calling you to wear a new hat in service to others?

United Women in Faith embody the wisdom of Proverbs—a wisdom that leads not only to understanding but to action. Their many hats represent a deep, purposeful faith lived out in service. I hope you’ll join us this Sunday as we celebrate their legacy and witness the ways God continues to work through them.

Blessings,

Pastor Carrie
