4.19.26 WHEN THE SPIRIT MOVES: The Church Comes Alive
Acts 2:1–8, 12-13, Ezekiel 37:1–10
Dear Trinity Family & Friends,
This Sunday, we continue our series When the Spirit Moves with the message: “The Church Comes Alive.” In Acts 2, everything changes. The disciples are gathered – waiting, praying, uncertain and then suddenly, the Spirit comes. And the church comes alive. What was once hesitant becomes bold. What was once uncertain becomes purposeful. And people begin to ask, “What does this mean?” That question still matters today, because the Spirit does more than create a moment, but it creates life.
Ezekiel’s vision of dry bones reminds us that God has always been in the business of bringing life to what feels empty, tired, or worn down. Many of us know what it feels like for faith to become routine. Acts reminds us that God is not finished in those places. The Spirit still breathes life into what feels dry.
Reflect and Prepare
- Where does your faith feel most alive right now?
- Where does it feel tired or routine?
- What does it mean that the Spirit gives life?
- When have you experienced renewal in your faith?
- What might God be awakening in you?
- How can we remain open to the Spirit as a church?
- What would it look like for your faith to come alive again?
The Spirit does not simply sustain what already exists, but it renews, restores, and awakens. My prayer is that we would not settle for going through the motions, but remain open to the life God is still breathing into us.
I’m looking forward to worshiping with you.
Blessings,
Pastor Dedric
