1.14.24 Think on These Things: “Where Are You Headed?”

Philippians 2:1-11, Matthew 7 (CEB)

Dear Trinity Family & Friends:

I am really excited about our next sermon, “Where Are You Headed?” based on Philippians 2:1-11 (CEB). We will deepen our understanding of discipleship by following Jesus’ example of humility and how that leads us down the narrow path to a life filled with truth. Philippians 2 challenges us to think about how we can be more like Jesus in our everyday life. It’s not always easy, especially when our world often pushes us in the opposite direction. We will also read Matthew 7 (CEB), which gives us a powerful image of two paths – one wide, one narrow. It really makes you think about which path you’re on, doesn’t it?

So, as we prepare for Sunday, I’ve got a few questions for you to consider:

  1. How can we live out Jesus’ kind of humility in the real world? Think about actual things we can do or changes we can make in our daily routines.
  2. What makes walking the narrow path tough, and how can we stick to it?
  3. How does having a Christ-like mindset change the way we make decisions? Consider how this way of thinking impacts our choices, our relationships, and where we’re headed in life.

As we focus on these scriptures, let’s see how they might stir us to rethink our direction and choices. We are all on a journey of transformation, each of us at different stages, yet united in our common goal to become more like Jesus Christ.

I can’t wait to see you at either 9 am Traditional (Sanctuary) or 10:30 am Cross Connect Contemporary (The New Room). Don’t forget the fellowship time in the lobbies between 10-10:30!

Blessings,

Pastor Dedric
