Wonderful Wednesdays In May
Dinner With Chef Phil
Every Wednesday Evening, all year long. Enjoy a delicious meal and great conversation with Trinity family and friends in Wesley Hall at 5:30 p.m.
“They Like Jesus But Not The Church”
Led by Rev. Sherill Clontz & Rev. Joe Estes. Ask someone today if he or she likes Jesus, and the answer is usually yes. But ask if that person likes the church, and chances are you will get a far less favorable
response. Join us as we explore some common perceptions and misperceptions of the church and how we can reach out to people who are interested in knowing more about Jesus despite their fear of church. We’ll be drawing on the insights from Dan Kimball’s recent book, They Like Jesus But Not The Church. If you have a heart for the young and unchurched, please join us Wednesday Nights in May at 6:30 p.m., Room
264.
Gardening With Steve Mitchell
Led by Steve Mitchell. Trinity’s own Steve Mitchell is a master
gardener and a wonderful photographer that will share his tips and photos to show you how to design a flower bed garden, plant selection, soil conditioning and more. For a firsthand look at Steve’s work, visit the beautiful Prayer Garden by Trinity Place and The New Room. Don’t miss this wonderful session Wednesday night,
May 21 at 6:30 p.m., Room 265.
Beth Moore Bible Study
Originating from a concept introduced in Isaiah 43:10, the Beth Moore Bible Study
"Believing God" examines what it means to believe God rather than only believe in Him. We will look at the lives of Abraham and others in Hebrews 11 as examples of those who believed God. This 10-week study will begin
on Sunday, June 1 and ends on Aug 3. We will meet from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. in Room 270. Please contact
Mary Beth Buchanan
or call 883-3200 ext 207.

Taizé Service
Join us Sunday, May 18 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary for our monthly Taizé Service. Taizé, a village in France, began a unique style of worship music that reflects the meditative nature of the community. Taizé music emphasizes simple phrases, usually lines from Psalms or other pieces of Scripture, repeated and sometimes also sung in canons. The repetition is intended to aid meditation and prayer. Many Christians make a pilgrimage to Taizé to experience this worship. But you can have the same experience right here!

Sunday School teachers for the June - August quarter for our children’s classes. Our teachers are in the classroom all year and take summer off, so please consider helping just for this
quarter. Also, Summer Adventure Leaders are needed now as we begin planning for this fun week at the beach,

place. Registration for children begins May 1. Contact Jan Hicks to help with either ministry
or call 883-3200 ext 275.
Summer Adventure “Decorators”

Summer Adventure will be July 21 - 25 and we need “decorators” to help with designing props and decorating our church for this special week at the

contact Jan Hicks
or call 883-3200 ext 275.

Trinity Financial Tips
- Preparing a will means good stewardship. If you neglect writing a
will, the state will distribute your property at your death by a
"will" that is has created for you.
- With no will there is no way to protect your children's interests in their share of your estate if your spouse remarries.
- With no will, there is no way to guarantee the assets you have
accumulated throughout your life will be distributed faithfully.
- A memorial gift can be a satisfying way to salute those whose memories continue to enrich our lives. Memorials to Trinity's
ministries budget help our church carry out ministries locally, nationally
and internationally. Call 883-3200, ext. 206 for more information.
- An honorarium is a special gift given in honor of or thanksgiving for a special person. This is a wonderful way to honor a fellow church member, a pastor, or a family member. Honorariums to the Ministries Fund help support all of the many ministries of Trinity Church.
- Give appreciated securities. Many people consider this the equivalent of a double deduction. You get the gifting deduction and avoid paying capital gains tax on the stock sale because the sale is done in the church name.
- Your stockbroker or banker can easily transfer securities from your personal account to TUMC. If you’d like to give a securities gift, call Jill Gardner in the Church Office, 883-3200, ext. 209.
- The most common method of gifting is cash. But did you know stocks, bonds and mutual funds may be gifted to your church as well?
- As you update your estate plan, we encourage you to consider the tithe in your will or other trust document.
- For those who want their life insurance proceeds paid to their family, name a church or charity as the contingent beneficiary.
- Have you considered fulfilling your tithe by auto draft? Call Judy Holcomb in the church office at 883-3200, ext. 293.
- Please visit our "Faith in Finances" page for
more information.
