Middle School Sexuality Workshop
On April 10-12 United Methodist Certified Sexuality Educator Robin Blakemore will join us for three days as we study, share, and learn together than our sexuality is a gift from God and our bodies a temple.  This is  chance to ask (anonymously) some of the questions you might have but have never been able to ask anyone.

The seminar includes five sessions for youth and two for parents.  The sessions run Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday morning and afternoon.  Full time attendance is required for all participants and each youth must have at least one parent participate.  The fee is $25 for a family and the registration deadline is Monday, April 7.  The workshop's theme is best characterized as "abstinence and information."  Pamphlets and  information can be pre-viewed in the youth office.

High School Relationship Seminar
On April 18-19 Robin Blakemore returns to conduct the seminar "Beyond the Birds and the Bees--A Look at Dating, Sex, and God."  In the seminar we will talk about dating, intimacy, the media, and marriage, comparing what God has to say about these things and what the world says about them. In particular, it will help us reflect on how to make God-honoring decisions about dating, waiting and mating.  There will be many games and activities as well as open discussion in small group sessions.  This is a non-judgmental course and we will discuss any and all of your questions.

The seminar will be Friday night 6-10pm  and Saturday from 11am to 2pm.   To participate you must register by Monday, April 14.  The registration fee is $25 per person.  Parent attendance is not required.

Rock Star Partym
On Sunday April 27 Converge will be replaced by "Party Like a Rock Star."   We will have a Guitar Hero Tournament in the Attic and you can either participate in the contest or just watch and cheer on your favorite "star."  Youth are invited to dress like their favorite rock star!

Spring Rummage Sale
We had a such a great sale in the fall that we have decided to do another one this spring. The sale will be on Friday & Saturday, May 2-3 from 8am to 1pm both days in the Trinity gym.  We will be collecting items on April 30 from 4-8pm and May 1 from 9am-5pm and need help setting up and working the sale. If you would like to help, please contact Amanda Lowe, Youth Associate, at 883-3200 ext 225 amanda.lowe@trinityhsv.org

Senior Recognition and Brunch

On Sunday, May 18 we will recognize our Seniors with a special day.  Those participating need to bring a baby and a Sr. grad picture to the youth office by Wednesday, May 7.  We highlight our Seniors in C&C with a special media presentation.  Students and families join us for brunch and a brief program at 11:00 a.m. in Wesley Hall

Mission Week '08: "Here; Now"
Join us July 6-11 for a week of inspiration and perspiration!  Youth stay at church, work in our community and are inspired each night through worship.  Our speaker this year is Jason Brown.  We will cap the week with a trip on Friday to visit a water park in Atlanta!  Mission Week is open to all students who have completed 6th through 12th grade.  The cost is $65 per person.

Converge

Converge: What is it?

1. meet: to reach the same point from different directions                                                            2. arrive at the same destination: to gather or meet at the same place                                                 3. to gradually become less different

Converge is our Sunday night Youth gathering for Middle and High School students.  We meet almost every Sunday from 5:30-7:30pm.  Once a month we have Converge "unplugged" where we go on an outing away from the church such as bowling, putt-putt, etc. With students from 24 schools in our Youth group, this is the best way for us all to meet together in the same place at the same time in order to strive for the same goal (strengthening our faith)--hence the name.                                        do your homework on Saturday and save your Sunday nights for Converge--you'll be glad you did.

Converge Dates:

March 2, 9, 16, 30

April 6,13, 20, (27 Rock Star Party-Guitar Hero!)

Families are encouraged to come and eat with us at the Wednesday night dinner which begins at 5:30pm.  However, please make reservations for the dinner before hand by calling the church office at 883-3200, ext. 207.  See you Wednesday!!

Discovery Weekend
On August 15-17 Trinity will be hosting Discovery Weekend.  Discovery  is  a three-day retreat for Middle school students.  Youth sleep at the church, participate in small groups, play awesome games, are inspired through worship and will come to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God loves them.

Parents if you had only one event to choose for your child to be involved in, then this is the one!

Summer Mission Trip
On June 7-13 the youth will be going to the Hinton Rural Life Center in Haysville, North Carolina to bring hope and help to rural families in the area.

The Hinton Center is a mission agency of the United Methodist Church that creates opportunities for work teams to experience the rich mountain culture, to serve others in repairing or building homes with local families, and grow in their understanding of faith and action.  It is located on 32 acres in the Appalachian Mountains and overlooks beautiful Lake Chatuge.

The cost of the trip is $240 per person which includes room and board, beautiful facilities, programs, tools and materials, and a skilled staff member to assist us.  Construction experience is not necessary, just a willingness to help those in need.

Contact Tony for details.
