On Life's Road with Christ

At Trinity United Methodist Church, we hope all members, non-members, and long-time visitors have a group of fellow Christians to which they belong. Why? Because when you join with other brothers and sisters in Christ, amazing things happen.  You are invited to join a Journey Group and experience the acceptance, love, and growth that Christ has in store for you.

For information please contact:
Joy Shackelford, Director of Adult Faith Formation
(256) 883-3200, extension 212, or
Patty Lowe at 256-571-7385.

What is a "Journey Group?"

Each of us are on a life journey. And we are taking that journey with Christ. As you strengthen your relationship with Him, check out Journey Groups.

We will meet in homes, at church, even coffee houses. Groups of about 12 people will meet for 90 minutes each week.  We will use the Bible and Christian studies to guide us.  And each group will talk about what it is interested in studying.

Our groups will grow closer to Christ though the eight facets of faith formation: belong, convent, pray, study, worship, give, serve, and invite.  We will provide a place to ask questions, share our views, and learn from others in an open and accepting environment.  Any and all adult Christians on life's road are encouraged to join

Some of us are just getting to know Christ, others of us took a wrong turn and are now back on the road, some have been on the road for a long time -- but we all long to know God even better.

Why I Like Small Groups...

"A chance to meet people from other services with different life experiences." Jennifer Penfield

"Life is not a solo journey, we are meant to travel with companions in small groups." Mike Lowe

"People really know you and your heart...that brings many blessings." Kim Sweatt

"Other points of view strengthen my faith." Gloria Burke

"I like to explore what I believe with others, and to learn from them...And our relationship grows with God and each other." Cornelia Turnbow
