The 1972 General Conference established the Black College Fund apportionment, which provides a constant reliable way to support United Methodist-related historically Black colleges' operations, programs and captial improvements. Today The United Methodist Church supports 11 historically Black colleges and universities, more than any other religious denominations.

Birmingham Southern College (BSC) and Huntingdon College are United Methodist colleges in the state of Alabama. These funds support scholarships for students from United Methodist Congregations.
Formed under Alabama law in 1956 in Birmingham, Alabama, Methodist Homes Corporation became an innovator in senior housing and geriatric care in the state of Alabama and northwest Florida. To serve God’s “Older Children,” the homes are designed as places to live, not just exist. With Christian mission in mind, MHC continues to meet the continuing personal health needs of the elderly.

The Children's Home makes a difference in the lives of children by providing services like: residential programs, foster care, family preservation & support services, adoption, and spiritual life and development. Camp Sumatanga is the primary camp of the North Alabama Conference, and is located in the foothills of the Appalachians. Sumatanga provides summer camping activities for youth and children, retreat and spiritual formation opportunities for young to older adults, and other conference and retreat facilities.
Our gifts support the general fund of Camp Sumatanga, which provides for upkeep and personnel support.

United Methodist Residential Alternatives was founded in 1994 by a group of advocates from the North Alabama United Methodist Special Camps. UMRA serves the entire community, providing quality family-style housing for adults with developmental disabilities. The purpose of UMRA is to provide not just a place to live, but a real family where special adults can live as independently as possible with pride and dignity.

The Servants Like Jesus Mission fund provides grants to various ministries connected to churches in North Alabama. These projects range from helping new ministries get off the ground to helping existing ministries take the next step in reaching out to God's people.

This fund is a supplemental fund to support student scholarships at Birmingham-Southern College.
Lake Junaluska Conference & Retreat Center has been the home of thousands of enriching events and worship services. The Lake Junaluska Dam was built in 1912. Several years ago the State of NC Inspectors determined the dam needed major repairs. The proceeds of this fund will be used to pay for the debt for the Lake Junaluska Dam project and to continue to keep the Dam and Lake Junaluska in line with North Carolina code.
