About Compassion at Trinity

1 billion children live in poverty world wide. That is 1 in 2 children.

In response to the Great Commission, Compassion International exists as an advocate for  these children. Their goal is to take a child from the brink of survival to "life to the full" as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Here at TUMC, over 240 families and individuals have partnered with Compassion to rescue children from poverty in Jesus' name. One child at a time!

Through letter writing, prayers and monthly support, TUMC members are connecting with children and their families from all over the world every day.  Trinity members have been involved in ways beyond individual sponsorship.  Our 2009 Summer Adventure missions giving built homes in Guatemala.  From June 11-18, 2011 the Youth and Family Mission Trip to Bolivia will provide the opportunity for sponsors to meet their children.  You can follow the trip, starting now at Follow Us to Bolivia.

We would love to invite you to share in this amazing ministry. We have sponsors as young as 4 and as old as 90! Call or e-mail Debbi Akers today to see how you can:
"Speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. (Proverbs 31: 8-9)"

What's Happening?

How Can You Encourage An Under-Resourced, Single Mom?

If you do not have a car, then how do you schedule Dr.'s appointments for your kids, counseling appointments to deal with your clinical depression, parent-teacher conferences, etc.?  How do you cook healthy food for your children by purchasing only what you can carry from your walk to the corner convenience market?  What if you are offered a job...finally... but cannot take it due to a bus schedule that does not match up with the work schedule?

You can bring hope to these moms by simply committing  to drive on a regular basis, or on an "on-call" basis.  How hard is it to run a mom to the grocery store?  Yet, God can use you in this way to bring HOPE to a family.

Are you called to serve Him by offering to drive?
